Should you wash your solar panels? According to a study conducted by Google, the answer to this question actually depends on the tilt of your panels. Tilted panels, which are cleaned naturally by the rain (and comprise most residential solar systems) are not really affected by cleaning. However, flat panels’ production increases significantly after a cleaning. So, unless you have flat panels, you likely will not see a difference in your panels’ production after a cleaning.
