BISOL modules comply with the lowest fire reaction standards according to the UNI 9177 standard, but what does that mean in real life? An installer wanted to see what would happen if he tried to set a module alight. Would it catch fire and encourage the flames to spread? When exposing the back sheet, the glass and the junction box of BISOL modules to an intense, direct flame for several minutes, the fire extinguished itself each time the blow torch was removed. The materials deformed and blackened, or broke in the case of the glass, but they did not catch or spread fire, exhibiting low fire reaction characteristics. This proves the self-extinguishing nature of BISOL PV modules and demonstrates the quality of materials that BISOL uses in its PV module production. The test results indicate that a fire cannot arise from a spontaneous combustion of PV modules and that when using reliable products; a solar system is a safe and sustainable way of producing green energy.
