The “Phoenix” tiny house is part of a regenerative, off-grid, community compound. It sits at the base of a still very active volcano Mauna Loa; which is known to be the largest volcano in the world. This 450 square foot, solar powered tiny home is situated on the 1990 Kalapana lava flow and just 4 miles from a 100ft waterfall of lava flowing into the ocean at 1 ton a minute. As rainwater is the water supply for Phoenix House, minimalism is the core of its design. Phoenix House goes beyond sustainability by creating space for new life to occur; it is evident throughout this design, from recycled materials to regenerative power. Phoenix House has a unique modern beach/farmhouse style that reflects simplicity and elegance with a very impactful feel.
