Solar Electric home in Ocala Florida. In 2010, this homeowner became the 1st solar home in their large gated community. In 2016, the homeowner has another 1st by becoming 1st home to have a solar pergola.
The original 5.52kw Grid-tied solar electric system has provided over 85% of the electric for the homeowners since going online in early 2010. This new solar pergola added another 3.36KW to their original system giving them a total system size of 8.9KW. The solar systems now generate all of the electric needed for this 1,900 square foot home. The pergola also provides some much needed shading for their sun room.
