Hi folks, Temple here… Wanted to give you the question of the day
regarding solar panels.
This question came from a Ventura Seller…
“Solar lease on my house, when I sell, what
do I do? Do I have to buy out the lease for the remainder
of the term, or let the buyers handle it themselves?”
Okay, that’s a great question.
Answer: Sometimes a buyer loves your house, but they didn’t sign up for a solar lease. They might appreciate that you have solar
panels, but they don’t really don’t want to pay for the rest of the lease, and this may be a really big deterrent, if you try to force the buyers to take care of that lease.
So, pay up the solar panel lease yourself, and just let the buyers
know that it’s all taken care of. Then that won’t become an item that is used to negotiate other terms.
Hope that helps!
