Solar Panels are being mounted on canopies on the top of the San Francisco parking garage’s top floor shading 154 parking spaces and lower NAU’s carbon footprint.
Green Fund member, Emerald McCormick says the project will show students, it is possible for a campus to be green and sustainable.
Kim Ott of NAU Communications says the garage was closed this past weekend so crews could crane materials to the roof and that the garage has always been solar ready.
The project is paid for in part by the student funded Green Fund which will use $100,000 a year for 10 years to offset the cost.
