This video will show you how to make your own solar panels to help heat an above-ground swimming pool.
List of materials you will need to make two 4×4 solar panels:
1 – 4×8 sheet of green treated plywood
48 feet of 2x2s (24′ per panel)
400 feet of 1/2 inch black vinyl tubing
Approx. 100 vinyl cable clamps (about 50 per panel)
Box of 1/2″ sheet metal screws
Sheet metal screw bit, if you don’t already have one
2″ drill bit
Box of 1/2″ flat head screws (for the vinyl cable clamps)
Box of 1 3/4″ nails (used to nail down the 2×2′s)
1 package of 11 inch black zip ties (use about 40 ties per panel)
3 @ 1/2″ brass tubing connectors
1 tube clear silicone caulking/sealant (for doors/windows)
Acrylic (plexiglass) – enough to cover two 4×4 panels.
1 gallon flat black exterior paint
1 gallon exterior primer
1 water pump – size depends on how high you mount the panels off the ground. Water pump should say how far it will pump the water.
