My first video made using Worldwide Telescope. I start at our solar system and expand out to the edges of the known universe. Also demonstrate search functionality using M31 and Polaris.

If you want to explore the universe for yourself, download Worldwide Telescope for free at http://www.worldwidetelescope.com. This video is not endorsed by Microsoft, Google, or any of their subsidiaries. I did not make any money from this video nor will I ever do so.
If you are following me for Minecraft videos: I do not play Minecraft anymore. Either enjoy my random content about space & life – OR – unsubscribe. Thank you.
UPDATE: After playing with the program some more, this is only a FRACTION of the entire universe. The furthest objects along the edge of this program are actually only 500Mps (1.63 billion light years). The real visible edge of the universe is 12-13 billion light years away. I’m unsure if this is because all of the data has not been compiled into a 3d model yet, if Microsoft simply doesn’t have access to that data, or if it’s an intentional limitation of the software because it is free.
Also, the sun spots on our sun are not live images. The current phase of the sun and other planets, however, is live information.
