Make A Decorative Indoor Outdoor Night-Light Or Lamp From An Inexpensive Solar Garden Light.

You can use clear tape or “hot glue” to glue the small plastic cup (available at Dollar General) onto the solar garden light. If it will be outdoors, or perhaps you are unsure or want multiple use from it, then it is best to paint the inside, rather than the outside. I didn’t test that though, but if it was painted on the outside (I used white glue mixed with food color) it is possible to spray a clear lacquer type coating over that to keep it weatherized. If it will be indoor use only, perhaps don’t blue the cup to the solar light, because you will probably want to use an on/off switch (made from a piece of thin bottle plastic) to conserve energy/light if you need to. You can charge up the solar light on a window sill or on the porch.’

The solar light did come with a clear cover with a small reflector in it, but, since it’s clear, it does not show up at a distance, and you may only see a small area of light. Though this project in the video is not as bright, and can be seen well enough, and is a good night-light. It can have other uses also.
