Hey look, a bit of sunshine, let’s see if that solar powered helicopter really works in the sun. If you look carefully you will notice I have changed the motor. The first one needed too much sunshine so I swapped it.
I have had several requests to make helicopters, electric or rubber band powered or even solar powered. Well, none of my electric motors are suitable and certainly none of my solar panels give enough power to get one off the ground even if it was a practical option, so I have decided to modify a toy to rotate the rotors in sunlight.

Generally my projects are for my grandchildren to enjoy. OK, I enjoy them too. If anybody else likes them, that is a bonus. I like to keep my work as simple and basic as possible so that it can be copied easily and improved by adding features or painting. I recycle or repurpose items rather than buy new and when I do buy I like to keep it cheap.
