Laser scribing of solar cells

Lasers are the tool of choice for cutting mono and polycrystalline silicon wafers for photovoltaic applications (solar cells). The laser is scribed to a depth of around 150-200 microns using a Rofin laser, and then it is broken along the scribe line.
