When you have SolarCity install your solar system, they have an electrician to wire up a portion to communicate with your electric panel inside, and there is an inverter, and a few other pieces outside the house, including the main switch that turns the whole system on. Watch this video to learn about the system and to find out about how to turn on your system, and how to monitor the system with the SolarEdge inverter. These instructions would be similar for other solar systems too.
