The Green Party has been vocal on its support to grow the solar industry in New Zealand and does not agree with Unison’s decision saying it sends the wrong message to those that chose to go with solar. “It’s a big question are the local power companies going to try and lock out local competitors or are they going to compete with them in areas like price,” explains Gareth Hughes of the Green Party.
