One of the first solar companies, FAFC based in Chico, California has designed a heat exchange system of SolarWorld panels. The system, called CoolPV takes waste heat off of panels to heat water. As a result, the panels produce up to 10 percent more electricity per year and will last longer with less degradation in efficiency.
