Brian Eno & Harold Budd – An Echo of Night

Beyond Music : The World In Which We Live.

The world in which we live is a place where those who are wicked enough to care claw their way to the top of a place that, to the detriment of all living things, espouses greed and corruption to the absolute extreme; where power is exercised with devilish purpose and where evil is embraced as a virtue; where trillions of tonnes of destructive chemicals are released into the atmosphere to destroy the ozone layer and reservoirs are polluted with deadly substances that further destroy the soil and seas through rainfall; where fresh fruit and vegetables, already compromised by malignant pesticides, are stored in warehouses to rob them of their essential vitamins and processed foods are riddled with poisons to speed up the ageing process; where the judiciary systems are nothing more than money making scams and the tax money that you pay goes not towards any government spending but instead into the bulging coffers of the ruling criminal class, who spend not the money they steal but instead hoard for the sake of hoarding, to destroy an economy that desperately holds together a fragile civilisation; where news is falsified, discoveries are kept secret and the latest technologies withheld; where dozens of words are deleted daily from dictionaries and the finest music, art and literature available to us are deleted from circulation to deprive the masses of a commodity that ensures spiritual liberation; where 500 megaton bombs are dropped upon civilised areas to contract the populace with deadly cancerous diseases and global epidemics are manufactured in laboratories to depopulate the globe; where 3000 monumental years of human history have been plucked conveniently from existence; where no one on this planet is safe and where every single element of our existence capable of empowering us has been deprived, robbed or manipulated to a degree so abhorrent to our sensibilities it simply staggers the imagination.

There is, for example, a place in our solar system that few people know about, a terrestrial body lying beyond the gas giants boasting a mass 6 times that of the planet Pluto. This planet unbeknown to us is called Neptune and was easy to conceal by the criminal class given that it is detectable only by highest powered telescopes available and by its gravitational irregularity that forces it to ellipse out of the solar system’s otherwise orbital uniformity. The outermost gas giant, the cobalt blue orb that everyone was deceived into believing to be called Neptune is in fact called Icthyus and had its name doctored a mere fifty years ago to conceal Neptune’s existence.

But why would this ruling class do such a thing? Why would they want to conceal from us something so inconsequential as to profit them none in their devilish deliberation? Because they can, and because they look down on us with scathing contempt as though the deprivation with which we suffered was of our own doing. As though we were at fault for allowing ourselves to be robbed of everything that was our unalienable right; because they despise us, believing it not our right to know such inconsequential knowledge, considering us worthy only of slavery; because they have, for so long, stood so unopposed, reigning supreme to indulge in their terrifying appetites with gluttonous constraint and who, like every single soul that they subject to their poisonous axioms, are prisoners doing penance for all the wicked things that they thought they had gotten away with. And for every person that they maim, every penny that they steal and every liberty that they withhold in the name of their own shameless grandeur only further prolongs their sentence in this hell hole of their own choosing.

The world in which we live is a place of punishment, a place where only the most disgraced come to suffer like they make others suffer, so that they then may taste the misery that they themselves have no hesitation in inflicting on any and all who stand in the way of their ignominious nature; pathetic, detestable and repugnant to the last, caring not about anyone or anything except themselves; thwarting any and all with loathsome conceit so that they may stand tall, self-assured by their odious denial, to bask in the aura of their own wretched glory. And I stand alone in this terrible world to tell you that they have not, do not and will not get away with all their evil doings. Theirs is a future of prolonged misery. Theirs is a future where, for every single moment of their waking life, they will suffer beyond the imaginings of all good men as the agonising guilt, that they had pushed away for so long, rips through them over and over and over again until they can barely even stand and they can barely even remember why the good Lord hath made them suffer so.
