Battery Bank for Solar and Wind. I had to build a battery bank for the wind generators. The wind turbines while turning slowly in a breeze are only making a small amount of electricity. That’s called a trickle charge. It’s not enough to run an inverter. So, making a battery bank you can store the electricity from an all day small wind and gain a few volts of electricity. When you have enough electricity in the battery bank for the inverter to come on then the inverter changes the DC voltage to AC and sends the electricity into your outlet so you can use the electricity in the house. The trickle charge also works for the 20 solar panels.
