In this video I take my first voltages from my panel. It consists of 20 0.55V panels in series. These photovoltaic cells produce slightly more than 0.55V, so I hope to get 12V from the solar panel in full sun.
In this test with some clouds over the sun I was getting a respectable 10.5V In the ideal situation I would have been able to place 2 more cells into the box, but I just couldn’t get them to fit.
I have enough solar cells left over for another panel, but I’ll save those for when I have a different soldering iron to use.
This panel with all current materials will place me well under the dollar per watt range.
