Here’s a quick video showing how I have my 45 watt Harbor Freight solar panel kit running in my shed.
I originally had it running with 1 Harbor Freight 35 amp hour battery.
I used a Harbor Freight 200 watt / 400 Peak watt inverter . The inverter would just stay on all day. The lights were on dusk to dawn sensors so they would turn on and off on their own.
My battery would only last a couple days as the solar panels couldn’t charge up enough while the inverter was running all of the time.
So I added a second 35 amp hour battery to bring me to a total of 70 amp hours.
I also installed a programmable digital timer to only run the inverter at pre-determined hours. It will come on at 6 p.m. and turn off at 6 a.m. the timer has over a dozen additional programs if I could also use if I wanted to. It also has a manual button which allows you to turn on the inverter on demand.
We’ll see how this runs now with the additional capacity and less draw on the battery all day.
Thanks for watching if you have any questions leave them in the comments and I’ll do my best to answer!
