Hey Guys,
This is the 42nd video of our 2001 Thomas School Bus Tiny House Conversion.
Today is a very exciting day.
Today we begin the installation of our Go Power solar kit http://amzn.to/2rkQb1o. We mount the 3 panels to the roof with roofing flashing tape, silicone and self drilling drywall to metal screws. We drill a 1″ hole in the roof with a hole saw for the wires to run through the interior of the bus, along the ceiling to the sub panel.
We secure the wires inside the bus with some electrical conduit, zip ties and a jerry rigged custom made wooden piece (crafted by Miles Beckler) which we counter sync to the steel joists. We then silicone all the screws on the ceiling.
It’s meant to rain tonight so it will be a great test to see if the solar panels attached to the roof are all water tight.
For now we’re leaving the cardboard boxes on the solar panels so that they do not start producing power. More to come on the solar system installation shortly!
Soon enough we’ll have a tiny house.
