Not really trying to get High voltage here. I just wanted to see what it was capable of.

2n2222a transistor. Base on 10 turn side of taped coil, Collector on 140 turn side. No resistor. Positive to center tap, neg to emitter.
It’s possible it was cutting out due to over-voltage. This may be fixable with a resistor on the base.
If you replicate, consider a heatsink that provides Shade for transistor.
