NAU’s Green Fund Committee hopes to increase their sustainability fee for students on campus. Students are currently paying $5 a semester. The committee would like to raise the fee to $15 which would go towards projects around campus.
The Green Fund Committee funded the refillable water stations on campus and recently installed the solar panels on top of the San Francisco parking garage.
After a student survey was sent out, Emerald Mccormick of the committee said the response was mostly positive but students agreed that the fee was too much. President Rita Cheng was not on board with the increase as well because there were no plans to increase fees this past semester.
