Constructing solar panel from scratch. The solar cells are four watt 6×6 cells acquired off e-bay for $one.00 every single. The cells are tabbed and assembled into strings of 13 and three strings make a single panel of approximately twenty volts. I use 2 sets of three strings to make 2 outputs from a single panel on a 4′x8′ textured glass sheet reclaimed from an aged solar heater. The cells are taped to the again of the glass generating positive all surfaces are protected with tape. The frame is 2×2 with a groove minimize into a single side that fits over the edge of the glass leaving three/four” lip beneath the glass for the three/four” confronted styrofoam sheet.
