A short video giving insight into the Solar project of Sahay Solar at Danbile School, Ethiopia.
An off-grid Solar System was installed at Danbile School, hosting 1500 children and located up in the mountains, more than a two hour drive away from Arbaminch in the south of Ethiopia.
The nearest source of electricity is around 90minutes by car and the solar system can hence bring great benefits to the school and its children and staff: teaching evening classes, using media for teaching, doing office work with PC’s as well as charging mobiles or listening to music…
The project was realised mainly with local professionals from Danbile village and staffs of Arbaminch University trained by Sahay Solar. It is part of the Solar Competence Center Project at Arbaminch University initiated by Sahay Solar Solutions GmbH in conjunction with ISAAC Institute Lugano and supported by Sahay Solar Association Africa e.V.
