Epoxy or hardened silicone type solar panels lose their luster relatively quickly. The cosmetic change does not affect the performance greatly.
They can easily be resurfaced by sanding and spraying with exterior urethane varnish. Upon spraying, you will notice an immediate increase in voltage, partially due to the cooling effect of the spray. The actual increase in my moderately clouded panel is about 0.05 to .1 volt.
Yes, you might have to do this every year but it takes less than 2 minutes and you’ll have a like new solar panel again.
