The story of Hermann Scheer’s struggle to make Germany 100% solar powered is like “The Old man and the sea”.
You are right. Take the fight directly to Big Oil.
Begging O. to adopt a policy against oil, without first our movement coming to some agreement as to what our 3 point policy is, will have no impact on the movement at the Sept 21 rally, the media, or our elected officials. First, we need to develop a strategy. That is why we need to develop our 3 points of agreement before Sept 21.
Yes, we need an 80% emissions reduction. Carrying signs does not scare big oil, ALEC, O., the DP & RP.
Here is how solar activist can take on the 2-faced Democrats. Yes, boycott flying to photo ops in NYC, but more importantly, start building solar powered homes.
This shifts energy & power from the oil companies to the working class.
That is what really scares the fossil fool companies. That is why ALEC is passing laws taxing solar panels out of existence in Arizona & Spain. ALEC (Am Leg. Exchange Council).
Solar is a decentralize energy source. It can only be harvested from millions of small Utilities, ie., roof top solar Utilities. This is good, because it creates millions of small home based businesses. And millions of jobs. Solar is a free, safe energy source that cannot be centralized into the hands of a few rich people in America, Africa or Asia, like oil has been. The 1% are being left out of this rush to solar.
BP & Shell have tried for 20 years to find a way to take over solar. They failed.
The key to this change from oil to solar is our “solar payment policy”. In Europe it is called a solar Feed in Tariff, (FiT), that requires Utilities to buy solar from homes & farms for $0.33 kwh.
This policy has been adopted by 69 nations around the world, so we now have a world consensus.
This is the #1 issue that should be discussed now, so by Sept 21 people understand how decentralization is our friend.
ALEC & the media have censored this discussion, so few American green activists know who Hermann Scheer & what the FiT is. Read his book “Energy Imperative”. Amy Goodman did a great interview of Scheer on Democracy Now.
Do we have time to save the planet? Yes, because the 3 changes we need to make have already been adopted by most modern nations around the world. The US is just way behind the curve, because of censorship of solar ideas in the US.
Yes, you are right. Using the “All of the above energy sources” is wrong. So is a Carbon Tax. These are what big oil has been advocating for 20 years.
We must stop fracking. Germany has stopped fracking by pushing towards 100% solar. Germany is also shutting down all its nukes, by going to 100% solar & renewables.
