This webinar provides guidance on how protect and develop access to direct sunlight for solar energy systems while emphasizing the importance of measuring and mapping solar resources and integrating these mechanisms into the Comprehensive Plan. The session will provide direction for ensuring that solar energy development captures community benefits and different types of solar energy systems are appropriately addressed in City policy and land use regulations. The session will also describe opportunities for using solar energy systems to increase a community’s resiliency (backup power, support for local electric infrastructure), augmenting its revenue base, and enhancing energy efficiency.
