This is our off grid cabin that we built over the summer of 2013. This is showing how I wired the cabin using 12-2 wire throughout. I used 12-3 where I hard wired smoke/CO detectors. I then placed 3 prong plug ends at the area where wiring would normally go into fuse panel. That is where I have them plugged into the inverter. This is showing the first inverter I was temporarily using. I now have a much larger one. I will upload a new video showing how far we have completed and what is next once snow starts to melt!
I also have an extension cord that I ran through the floor and up the wall from the outside where I have my generator. This allows me to unplug form the inverter and plug into the extension cord so that I can run the cabin on generator power if I am expecting to be watching movies or if I have company over. Helps save the batteries!
