I talked to a Nissan rep a while back who was asking me if I had any questions about my car. I sent them on a quest to find out how the solar panel was wired in. He checked with engineering and they said that the solar panel is directly wired to the 12v line. So I wanted to test it out and shot this video. Afterwards I went back out and tested it in sunlight and then by putting a towel over the panel. With the panel covered with a white towel folded over a few times so it’d get moderately dark, the voltage dropped to 1.5v.
Why is this thing on my car? It’s not serving any technical purpose whatsoever.
