Local Winery Installs Solar Panels

Last year, local winery Page Springs Cellar became the first and only winery in Arizona to install solar panels.

Founder of the winery, Eric Glomski, says that since the installation of the solar panels last November, power bills on site have been cut by 75-80 percent.

The panels are located in the parking lot of the winery, providing shade whilst capturing the sun to power the property.

While it will take seven years for the panels to pay themselves off, Glomski says that the cut helps with the winemaking process, particularly during harvest.

Nicole Phillips, a visitor to Page Springs Cellars, says she appreciates the natural power on the winery and that it is special when the environment can be used without being harmed.

Glomski says that he wants to showcase the solar power to all the winery’s visitors by implementing a kiosk in the tasting room to display to people what is happening.

While tax credits prevent Page Springs Cellars from being completely solar powered, the winery’s next goal is to further increase their solar usage.
