KCC PV Lab 01.wmv

Kankakee Community College students finish constructing their scratch-built, in-lab, utility-intertied, solar-PV systems. They laid out and mounted all components; and, installed all the conduit and wiring. This is part of a Renewable Energy Training program, being developed under a small planning grant from the National Science Foundation ATE division…Thank You NSF! This course is also NABCEP-approved! Thank You NABCEP!
Their next step will be to make and apply all NEC-required labels and markings. They will also be tagging every element of their systems with the applicable NEC article, section, and subsection numbers, as part of their course portfolio. When that much is completed, they will re-configure the array and add all the necessary components to transform this into a 24VDC-battery-based, stand-alone PV system, with a full-sized inverter/charger.
