How to Make Your Own DIY Solar System – Homemade Solar Power System #1

PART 1
Here in the part one of how to make your own DIY solar system setup and installation.

I will be showing you what you need to watch out for while setting up your system and I will be showing you how easy any one with basic Physics knowledge can do same

This tutorial is for those who wish to install a solar panel system to cover their home power needs. I will do my best to guide you step by step from buying different components to wiring everything by yourself.

But you have to know some basic electrical/Physics and math for designing the entire system.

So I have attached links of my other components you will need so check on the link to learn more about solar system components.

For a basic off grid solar system you need five basic components
1. Solar Panel (PV Panel)
2. 12 AWG Solar Extension cable
3. Charge Controller
4. Inverter (Off Grid)
5.Battery

Besides the above mentioned components, you need few things like Copper Wire, MC4 Connector, breaker, meter and fuses etc. The breaker is not compulsory because most components now has in built fuses, which cut to protect the appliance in case of fault

In my upcoming videos, I will explain in details how you can choose the above components according to your requirement. I mean if you want a 12V system, 24V system components will not work for you. So you have to decide from day one before you begin to buy the components.

It will be nice to recall that in the setup, I used big solar panel of 130W @ 12V, 12 AWG 2.5mm solar cable, two batteries of 12V @ 7Ah each (these batteries are for demonstration purposes, they are not designed to be used for solar system, like I said it is an experiment), 20A 12/24V MPPT/PWM solar charge controller and a 1500Watt pure sine wave inverter.
