DIY PV racks

The racks for my QS Solar PV modules. Each one is made of half a dozen 4ft pressure treated 2in by 4in boards. The modules are all 60W 48V nominal (Empp is about 62V) amorphous silicon modules, and they are heavy (the far one is about 48lbs; the others are 43lbs each). The brackets are 1-1/2in by 1-1/2in by 1/8in aluminum angle mounted to the modules with #8-32thread/in stainless steel machine screws. The screws holding the brackets to the frames are 1-5/8in Robinson (square) head epoxy coated deck screws. Note that as these frames are made of modern pressure treated wood, epoxy coated screws MUST be used, as the copper in the wood treatment severely corrodes many metals on contact. The aluminum PV module mounting brackets must be isolated from direct contact for the same reason, hence the painted frames. These will soon be wired up to the control board for the system that I am also building, and the Schloß Randac off grid solar farm will be open for business.
