I used a Rival Wal-Mart purchased Crock Pot to cook today.
This Crock pot has a maximum energy consumption of 120 watts @ 120 VAC. Total energy consumed is about .5 of a kWh for a 6 pound roast and potatoes. The cooking was 100% from Solar PV (Solar Panels) This is a grid tied solar system with three arrays totaling 9000 watts. 2000 watts facing south fixed at a winter tilt, 5000 watts facing east and 2000 watts looking West. This system produces about 10.4 megawatt hours annually. The best part about this system is that it captures most of my daily needs rom sun up to sundown because of the three directions it’s pointed.
