Cheaper and more environmentally friendly solar cells



In countries like Germany and Italy, 5 percent of all electricity already comes from solar cells. But for an even broader breakthrough, even more efficient and inexpensive solar cells are required. To reduce the production cost and facilitate large-scale production, Charlotte Platzer Björkman at Uppsala University will make thin-film solar cells out of completely new materials as a Wallenberg Academy Fellow.
