✔ van trip – fitting flexable solar panels in Uvalde, TX

Rambling into Uvalde, TX and flexible solar panels arrive.

Just wanted to record some of the driving footage because it’s really beautiful about 2 hours north of Uvalde, TX. It reminds me of vacationing in Thailand; there are really lush jungle looking terrain. Amazing how much farther my dollar goes now that I’m out of San Francisco.

I placed some extra memory foam on the floor of the front passenger seat and ellie is using that to rest her head on. I’ve been neglecting to exercise her because I’ve been running out of battery power in the eco reco scooter. I suppose I could go for a jog, but then I’d need to takea shower and that’s not easy to do on the road at this point.

As I predicted, because of my slow driving speed I have to double my estimated time of arrival on gps. I wish google had a soft foot speed that would calculate your time of arrival based on the current speed you are traveling.
I will be happy to get to Uvalde because at that point I’ll have internet access. tmobile does not work out where I am; I have zero bars.

Man, I sure love my cruise control. It’s almost like playing a video game because I just hit a button to speed up and slow down the van.

Driving into Uvalde here. Gas prices are pretty cheap. I’ve got a really bad squeak in the dash.

Last time I was in Uvalde everything was brown from teh summer heat. It’s much more beautiful at this time fo year and I actually do like Uvalde as far as a little town.

Next day in my cousin’s back yard where I slept in the van. I remebered that I had breakfast with me in the van. I liek to order the egg sandwhich and load it with vegetables. It makes for a large sandwhich and it’s one of their cheaper ones; you don’t want to be eating all those nitrates in the processed meats anyway.

Ellie sure wants some.

My fan wasn’t hooked up correctly and it seems to be turning itself off if the load is too heavy. Ellie is always hungry.

While I”m at my cousin’s house.. what I’d like to do is install the solar panels and the propane shower.

Doing a mock up of the solar panels on the top of the van and I’m happy that you can’t really see them from the side of the van. They cost a bit more than the standard solar panels but because they are bendable they cost more.

I think I will route the mc4 connector and wires through the hole I already put in my roof with the 14×14 hole.

Well that’s the plan, time to enjoy some bbq with the family.
