I use this for charging my iPhone while out on day hikes and using the GPS tracker function on my iPhone (the GPS function, like Runtastic, really eats a lot of battery life).
I like:
- It actually works. Even in the shade. (though direct sunlight is best)
- The fact that you can disconnect the solar panel + battery if you don’t want it.
- It’s a hydration pack.
- Ultra-light.
- Light padding on the back.
- Chest and waist strap.
- And looks awesome (I demonstrate the red color in my video)
- Excellent company–I’ve corresponded with them and they actually sent me a sample of this pack to test and review. Pretty decent of them!
5/5 stars. The perfect pack for the modern hiker. Continue using the features of your phone (e.g. camera, GPS, even Netflix if your data plan allows it) while out in the middle of nowhere.
Note: It’s not enough power to charge a laptop. The power pack charges 2 iPhones fully, or 1 iPhone and 1 iPad. I also use this to top off my GoPro and Canon (camera) batteries. (I’m a videographer and photographer and I love filming when I’m out hiking)
