Demo of homemade portable phone charger. Powered by 3 x AA 1.5V batteries. Made in July 2012 for Woodstock Festival, Poland as an alternative way to charge phones. We produced 100 devices. The cost of manufacturing 1 piece was less than 7PLN (~1.23GBP).
I was part of a 3-people assembly team. I cut holes in soap dishes using Dremel multitool and glued everything in place using hot glue gun and glue stick as filler. The other two soldered PCBs and cables.
An major update to my off grid solar, now total 2.2kw 7 panels total. Running everything from Window Air Conditioner to Washing machine, Dishwasher and Water Heater.
