These boards were designed for Elemental LED ( www.elementalled.com ) as a “business card” to give away at Maker Faire 2009 in San Mateo. We’ll also host soldering workshops where people can assemble the board and take home a functional RGB color fader with a sample of the RGB tape.
The circuit is a simple microcontroller-based design with the color fading being done in software. The RGB tape is flexible, has an adhesive backing, and can be simply cut to the required length without changing the voltage requirements.
