Pedal-Assist Technology (PAT)
SUPERFLY 2016 comes equipped with the Pedal-assist technology to help you ge the most of the AmericanElectric experience.
When the rider pedals, it triggers a motor sensor, rendering a weightless sensation. This makes riding easier, it helps with obstacles such as hills and headwind, and it provides the flexibility to go farther without getting sweaty.
Should you find yourself without battery power, no worries– the geared pedals will still propel your vehicle to an outlet.
Motor
Electric motors are manufactured in a wide variety of power ratings, or wattage ‘s , ranging from 200 watts to a kilowatt or more. Wattage is kind of like horsepower.
A higher rating means that the bike will be able to pull more weight with greater ease (at the expense of battery capacity).
For example, a 750W motor will drain the battery more quickly than a 250W motor, but it will be more powerful.
Hydraulic Disc Brakes
Hydraulic Disc brakes are more efficient ,than any other brakes. They use fluid to transfer the force from lever to caliper.
A hydraulic system multiplies the effort put in at the lever so the actual braking force is greater than the force applied by you. This is why hydraulic brakes on bikes give such excellent performance for comparatively little effort, you get so much feel at the lever, and can modulate your braking far more effectively. In practice, the lever feels so light that you can basically brake using your little finger, and you have far more control over how much braking force you want to apply.
One other bonus of the hydraulic system is that it’s sealed. That means it should need very little maintenance once setup other than bleeding, which should need to be done infrequently enough.
