IAN: Hi it’s Ian from iTechworld and we are doing our live question and answers session, our first one. A lot of people have already emailed in and asked us some questions about generator range, I think a lot of people know that we sell solar panels but we also sell generators as well. One of the most popular ones we have is this one right here. It’s a 2 stroke 2KVA Mighty Mouse Generator. IAN: The next one, a lot of people have messaged us about out 2.2KVA generator. This one’s 4 stroke and has dual 15 amp outlets on it and it comes with a kit so you can charge your battery directly straight from the generator. So this is pretty much the most popular one we have. We are going to start this one up because a lot of people want to hear it going. If you come with me outside we will start it up.
PHIL: That’s the kit, you plug that straight into the generator and then you have 2 alligator clips, one for negative one for positive to charge up your 12-volt battery. Let’s go outside and watch Ian start up this generator.
IAN: So I’ve switched it on. So as you can probably tell, it’s really quiet, this is the only place to buy it in Australia. Starts first time, every time with the pull start. Yeah so it’s really quiet it’s only 58 decibels you can hardly hear it.
IAN: Product of the week is 120 Watt semi-flexible solar panel we have designed and prototyped this one here in Western Australia the made benefit of this one is that it has American solar cells. If you look at this one, this is our 120-watt solar panel with German solar cells, and this is a 120-watt panel with American solar cells. Even though they both do the exact same power output, the size difference is huge. This is 1.2 metre’s and this one is just over a metre.
PHIL: Not to mention the width, 2 ml thickness, can bend it and weighs one and a half kilos. This one has about 3 and a half centimetres thickness and weight about 10 kilos and it’s not going to bend.
IAN: So if you’ve got a pop top or you’re worried about weight on your caravan. This is the one to get. Definitely this one! It only weighs one and a half kilos compared to this one weighs about 10 kilos. The price on this one is about 299 dollars, but if you buy two of them, you get a third on for free. So it works out about 199 each panel which is ridiculous, it’s probably too cheap.

IAN: You’ve got half an hour until the postman comes. The other product that we have is our 160, have our range of folding solar panels. One of our most popular ones is our 160-watt portable folding panel, this one comes with NPPT, controller, 5 metres of cable, alligator clips, Anderson plug and a heavy duty bag. Some of the bags you will find from other solar panel manufacturers or distributors, the bag is almost like it’s made from paper. Our bags are all filled with foam, they are heavy duty. You can rip them or damage them. The handle from the solar panel comes out here so you never put any weight on the bag. And the handle on our solar panels is collapsible so it doesn’t break off. All our fittings are stainless steel, marine grade and aluminium is on the legs and the actual frame as well, hail proof. The way they test is they actually fire something at it at 500 miles per hour, like a ball and that’s how they test to make sure it’s all hail proof. Yeah, these panels are pretty awesome. You probably see these most going for about 500 bucks but because we are the manufacturer of these panels we can actually do them for 229 dollars. You cut out the middle man when you buy directly from iTechworld.
IAN: How many solar panels do I need, is the probably the number one question customers ask us all day every day. And the answer is you should stock up on as many solar panels as you can. When you think you need 120-watt you should probably buy 160 watts. It just means when it’s cloudy, overcast or you’re not getting the conditions you still got that extra power over what you’re using. That’s the main question.
PHIL: You can never have too much power because the regulator will stop the battery from overcharging, so it will keep you battery full and you don’t have to worry about it. All our regulators are fully automatic and that’s it, forget about it. It will keep it full.
