This solar charger was on offer at £9.99 and the large panel caught my eye. Officially I intend to use it to charge some batteries to power some lights in my shed but I thought I would just see if I could use it to power a small electric motor, maybe for a small solar car project. I was disappointed with it’s performance as it claims 12V 1.5W on the box and says it works in overcast conditions. To be fair it is only designed to trickle charge a 12v battery but I had hoped for something better than I got. In full sunlight it does perform better but I am still not impressed.
